Shipping by Rules for VirtueMart

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Plugin development ceased, all plugins made available freely (GPL)

With great sadness we have to announce that we are ceasing development of all our VirtueMart, WooCommerce and Joomla plugins. Effective immediately, all our plugins -- even those that were paid downloads -- are made available for free from our homepage (GPL license still applies), but we cannot and will not provide any support anymore.

It has been a great pleasure to be part of the thriving development communities of VirtueMart as well as WooCommerce. However, during the last year it became painstakingly clear that in addition to a full-time job, a young family and several other time-consuming hobbies at professional level (like being a professional singer) the plugin development and the support that it requires is not sustainable and is taking its toll. It has been an honor, but it is now time to say good bye!

Overrule shipping 11 Mar 2014 11:39 #1

I posted this an hour ago, but seems something has gone wrong as it is deleted.

I want to override shipment options when specific products are chosen.

Can I do that?

Normally people can buy many things and have it delivered by postal services or to a GLS parcelshop.

I want also to sell dog food which is heavy. This cannot be delivered to a parcel shop. It must be send to an address.

When people buy dog food and other stuff they mustn't be able to chose other shipment options than the one that can deliver dog food.

Can I do that?

Your first posting has not been deleted, it had just not been approved. Firt-time posts have to be manually approved to prevent spam postings.

See:

I think I misunderstood you in that other posting, though. If I understand this request correctly, you want to offer the GLS shipping method only if no dog food is included. Unfortunately, AFAIK, the GLS shipment method does not have any setting to exclude it based on the contents of the cart.

The other way (disabling a method provided by the shipping by rules plugin) would be possible as described in the response to your other posting.

Best regards,
Reinhold
