IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Plugin development ceased, all plugins made available freely (GPL)

With great sadness we have to announce that we are ceasing development of all our VirtueMart, WooCommerce and Joomla plugins. Effective immediately, all our plugins -- even those that were paid downloads -- are made available for free from our homepage (GPL license still applies), but we cannot and will not provide any support anymore.

It has been a great pleasure to be part of the thriving development communities of VirtueMart as well as WooCommerce. However, during the last year it became painstakingly clear that in addition to a full-time job, a young family and several other time-consuming hobbies at professional level (like being a professional singer) the plugin development and the support that it requires is not sustainable and is taking its toll. It has been an honor, but it is now time to say good bye!

Hi Reinhold

After updating from 4.1 to 5.0 both the basic and advanced plugin all orders show Order Weight 0 in the details of an order.

Order Weight in 5.0 lost 05 Mar 2015 21:58 #2

Dear Manuxx,
In all my tests, the weight variable has the correct value. Can you give me an example of a rule that is not working? Thank you,
Reinhold

Hi Reinhold

As you can see in the lower left details of the image there are 2 issues:

1- The shipment name (since vm3) does not show the full name of the rule but the general. Also no articles in order.

2- With version 4.3 of your plugin total weight shows correct but with 5.0 and 5.1 shows no value.

Here you have an example of the rule where it failed:
Variable=totalboxes; Value=ceil(totallength/15)
Name=Max 5kg Bultos {totalboxes}; 01000<=ZIP<07000 OR 08000<=ZIP<35000 OR 36000<=ZIP<38000 OR 39000<=ZIP<60000 OR 53000<=ZIP<99999; Weight<=5; Shipping=4.81
Name=max 10kg Bultos {totalboxes}; 01000<=ZIP<07000 OR 08000<=ZIP<35000 OR 36000<=ZIP<38000 OR 39000<=ZIP<60000 OR 53000<=ZIP<99999; 5<Weight<=10; Shipping=5.77

PD: They changed something from vm2 to vm3 cause we are not getting the shipment rule but instead the shipment name (same name for all rules). It doesnt appear in the confirmation e-mail either.

Order Weight in 5.0 lost 13 Mar 2015 23:55 #4

Dear Manuxxx,
Thank you for the clarification, I wasn't thinking about the display of the order in the VM backend. In Version 5.0 I have restructured a lot of evaluation code, and didn't deem it important enough to still store the weight and/or articles/products in the database any more. Apparenly I was wrong, so I added that code again and starting with version 5.2 of the plugin the weight, articles and products of the order will still be stored in the database and properly displayed in the backend. Unfortunately, for all orders that have been made in the meantime those values will still not be in the database, but at least it will be fixed for all future orders.

Regarding the display of the rule, I'll have to investigate a little further. VM3 really change some internals so that the rule name is no longer available in the function that stores the information into the database...

Best regards,
Reinhold

Hi Reinhold thanks for reply.

We export both fields the weight and rule name with CSVIPRO since this is required by our transport system.

Happens that we used to calculate the number of boxes happily with your plugin but the VM guys "killed" us by removing the full rule name from the database.

Im glad the order weight will be available again.

Please let me know any updates with the rule name or ifyou think of a way to display the full rule name in the backend.

This change will affect everyone exporting the field so all calculations are just for display of the user, they even removed it from the confirmation order.

Dear manuxx,
Please try version 5.3 of the plugin, which I just released on our homepage. It should fix the issue, which was actually not due to changes in VM3, but due to changes in Joomla between J2 and J3...

Best regards,
Reinhold

Hi Reinhold, installing that version solved the problem ;)

Thanks a lot, now we have it in emails, backend and we can export the field via CSVI.
