Advanced Ordernumbers for VirtueMart

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Plugin development ceased, all plugins made available freely (GPL)

With great sadness we have to announce that we are ceasing development of all our VirtueMart, WooCommerce and Joomla plugins. Effective immediately, all our plugins -- even those that were paid downloads -- are made available for free from our homepage (GPL license still applies), but we cannot and will not provide any support anymore.

It has been a great pleasure to be part of the thriving development communities of VirtueMart as well as WooCommerce. However, during the last year it became painstakingly clear that in addition to a full-time job, a young family and several other time-consuming hobbies at professional level (like being a professional singer) the plugin development and the support that it requires is not sustainable and is taking its toll. It has been an honor, but it is now time to say good bye!

Woocommerce Search Function Not working 20 May 2017 12:29 #1

Hi Guys

The App i great for me. I run several stores via a multi site set up. So I can assign a prefix to each store so I can visually see where the order was made when people contact us and there are no problems of duplicate invoice numbers when people pay via PayPal. As all the stores run through one PayPal account.

What I've been struggling with is searching for order numbers. When searching the order number it returns no results. Having had a play about I've discovered that it's because I have assigned a alphanumeric value to the prefix, which is usually an acronym for that particular store ( E.G> #BAM-111) . If no letters are used in the order number e.g (11-111) then the search request returns the order.

I'm not very savvy when it comes to coding, I can get by. From what I've experienced above it seems to me that woocommerce will only search the order numbers if the search string is numeric. Is this something that you guys have come across and did you find a solution.

Thanks in advance.
Gavin

Woocommerce Search Function Not working 26 May 2017 02:29 #2

Dear Gavin,
Thank you for noticing this issue. While searching initially worked fine, during the refactoring of our plugin we missed a small detail that broke the search. The next release will contain the proper fix so that searching within custom order numbers starts working again.

Best regards,
Reinhold
