Shipping by Rules for VirtueMart

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: Plugin development ceased, all plugins made available freely (GPL)

With great sadness we have to announce that we are ceasing development of all our VirtueMart, WooCommerce and Joomla plugins. Effective immediately, all our plugins -- even those that were paid downloads -- are made available for free from our homepage (GPL license still applies), but we cannot and will not provide any support anymore.

It has been a great pleasure to be part of the thriving development communities of VirtueMart as well as WooCommerce. However, during the last year it became painstakingly clear that in addition to a full-time job, a young family and several other time-consuming hobbies at professional level (like being a professional singer) the plugin development and the support that it requires is not sustainable and is taking its toll. It has been an honor, but it is now time to say good bye!

We have been using your advanced shipping by rules for a while now and they are working as planned, however our client have just noticed that the automatic select shipping, is not working when no billing information has been filled out, which is logical, however, we have set the shop to automatically select the shipping.

When I as a customer click "go to payment", we go to the next page where we fill out the billing information and fill out the address, zip, country etc. and then press to payment, this is where i suddenly have to select the shipping method even though we only have the one, and we have set the shop to automatically select the shipping.

So basically I have no idea why the shipping is not being selected automatically as we have set the shop to do, have you tried this before?

We have no idea where to go from here, what is to be done?

We are using:
Joomla 2.5.8
VM 2.0.14
I cant view the version of advanced shipping by rules

Do you have any third party checkout module installed or does this happen with the default VM checkout?

Apart from that, I'm afraid that's a VirtueMart behavior, where my plugin does not really have any way to influence how VM selects (or not) a shipping rate automatically.
