Need some help with ruling out gift card category 01 Oct 2014 22:40 #1

With great sadness we have to announce that we are ceasing development of all our VirtueMart, WooCommerce and Joomla plugins. Effective immediately, all our plugins -- even those that were paid downloads -- are made available for free from our homepage (GPL license still applies), but we cannot and will not provide any support anymore.
It has been a great pleasure to be part of the thriving development communities of VirtueMart as well as WooCommerce. However, during the last year it became painstakingly clear that in addition to a full-time job, a young family and several other time-consuming hobbies at professional level (like being a professional singer) the plugin development and the support that it requires is not sustainable and is taking its toll. It has been an honor, but it is now time to say good bye!

I'm very sorry for the double post...I'm not sure how to delete the other one. I am not sure how I posted on the "ORDERNUMBER" forum. It should be here...
I have a pretty simple rule that is as follows: Amount<100;Shipping=5.99 Name=Free shipping above $75;75<=Amount;Shipping=0 I would like to add a rule that if the only items that are in the VM Cart belong to category id 1030 (egift cards), then no shipping charges (since nothing will shipped). If any real products are in the cart (in addition to gift cards, the above rules should apply). Really, the value of gift cards should be ignored in the total, I suppose, to prevent issues. I know categories are supported, but I can't figure out how to add this rule. Can you help me with this rule? Thanks in advance! |

You can check whether the list of categories in the cart consists of only the category 1030 (assuming that gift cards are assigned ONLY to category 1030):
Name=No shipping for gift cards only; Categories==list(1030); Shipping=0
Amount<100;Shipping=5.99
Name=Free shipping above $75;75<=Amount;Shipping=0 Please note that the list(...) function requires the advanced plugin (mainly due to technical reasons, since only the advanced version includes a parser that understands parentheses and functions). It is currently not possile, however, to exclude all products of one category from the calculation of e.g. the Amount variable. So the Amount variable will always be the full order amount, including gift cards. Best regards, Reinhold |
