Shipping Rules based of category items on cart 16 Aug 2016 14:35 #1

With great sadness we have to announce that we are ceasing development of all our VirtueMart, WooCommerce and Joomla plugins. Effective immediately, all our plugins -- even those that were paid downloads -- are made available for free from our homepage (GPL license still applies), but we cannot and will not provide any support anymore.
It has been a great pleasure to be part of the thriving development communities of VirtueMart as well as WooCommerce. However, during the last year it became painstakingly clear that in addition to a full-time job, a young family and several other time-consuming hobbies at professional level (like being a professional singer) the plugin development and the support that it requires is not sustainable and is taking its toll. It has been an honor, but it is now time to say good bye!

Dera Pradeep,
If I understand your examples correctly, you basically distinguish between articles from the Alarm category (let's say this is category with ID 123) and other articles. Your shipping cost depend only on the value of articles from the alarm category and on the value of all other articles. Looking at your examples, do I understand it correctly that your shipping cost structure is as following:
This can easily be implemented with the following rules (123 is the ID of the alarm category in this example): Amount - evaluate_for_categories(Amount, 123)>500; Shipping=0
Shipping=13 Here, evaluate_for_categories(Amount, 123) calculates the value of all items from the alarm category, so amount-evaluate_for_categories(...) is the value of all other articles. If that is larger than 500$, no shipping is charged and the next rule is not evaluated any more. If it is less than 500$, then the second rule gives shipping costs of 13$. Best regards, Reinhold |
