I'am trying to use ASR on my new site. It current works on my existing site which is 2.5. My new ones is the latest VM and J!

On the old site it works perfectly, but the new one no shipping options appear. I have pasted (no HTML) the formulas in see below.

But nothing works. I am adding the states as per normal under countries. I have even edit the state in DB to be zone one. As no zones were showing in the admin. Doesn't work for weight length etc.

the odd thing is that in my odd site there are no states. But in the database there is a table called 187 or something that has the states in. Why it is like this Im not sure. But how is it that doing it the normal way its not working. Any ideas anyone? Iam using the extension from when I originally purchased which installed ok. And the version I believe looks the same.

Sorry to hear you are running into problems.
Unfortunately, I couldn't understand completely what your problem is. You are talking about states you added manually, but all your rules appear to compare the city name that the customer entered (which I would not recommend, as any typo will break the shipping rates).

You say that no shipping rate is offered. This is typically the case if your rules have some small typo or thinking error. What is the exact order information that you are testing (i.e. full address / what exactly did you enter into the address fields)?

Thanks for your reply. Yes I am a bit confused.

Basically when somebody selects a city or state. (virtuemart_state_id) is what i would like to use to calculate the cost.

Whats is the best way to do this?

If you want to base your shipping on the state the user selected from the Dropdown box, you can use one of the variables: State, StateID, State2, State3.
State ... The human-readable state name shown in the dropdown box
StateID ... The numeric state ID (virtuemart_state_id)
State2 ... The 2-letter code for the state (e.g. CA for California)
State3 ... The 3-letter code for the state

I would recommend the State2 variable, as it is (a) readable unlike the numeric state ID and (b) not translated for multi-language shops, so your rules are easily understood and independent of the language.
